Positions & Qualifications for Child Care Staff

Preschool Teacher

The Preschool Teacher is responsible for providing a safe and developmentally appropriate program in accordance with relevant policies and procedures to include planning, implementing and incorporating Pre-K Counts requirements and regulations. Provide various experiences and activities for children to engage in learning and imaginative play. Observe, document, and share child’s progress with families, communicate with families and members of the community. Additional responsibilities may include, but are not limited to daily attendance, developmental screenings, working with families to promote success for children in school, and make referrals to families. Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, ECE Certification, Master’s or credits towards a Master’s degree in a specialized field of education, experience with young children in a preschool program, and Act 34, 151, 114, NSOR Clearances. Assistant Preschool Teacher

Assistant Preschool Teacher is responsible for helping the teacher with implementing developmentally appropriate preschool program and all functions of the daily classroom. Ensure materials and equipment are clean, appropriate, and safe. Perform other related duties as required. Assistant Preschool Teacher must have obtained a minimum of an Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university in ECE, Child Development, Special Ed., or Elementary Education, two years experience with young children, and Act 34, 151, 114, NSOR clearances. Child Care Center Director

The Director is responsible for general management of the facility. The Director shall have attained the minimum of an associate’s degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and have 1-4 years of experience with children depending on level of education. Must obtain Act 34, 151, 114, NSOR clearances. EOE

Teacher/Group Supervisor

The Group Supervisor is responsible for planning and implementing daily program activities and assisting the director. The Group Supervisor shall have attained the minimum of an associate’s degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and have 1-3 years of experience with children depending on level of education. Must obtain Act 34, 151, 114, NSOR clearances. EOE

Assistant Teacher/Assistant Group Supervisor

The Assistant Group Supervisor is responsible for implementing daily activities under the guidance of the Group Supervisor. The Assistant Group Supervisor shall have attained a high school diploma or GED and have 1-2 years experience with children depending on level of education. Must obtain Act 34, 151, 114, NSOR clearances. EOE
